The first of two public hearings on the proposed FY 2026 budget will be held at the City Council meeting on April 28, 2025. Written comment accepted through April 25 at 5 pm. The full proposed budget (412 pp PDF) is available for review.
The boil-water notice issued April 8 for South Cedar (zip 84102, west of Mill Road) has been lifted as of 6 am today. Water has tested clean for 48 consecutive hours. Customers may now resume normal water use without boiling.
The City's residential composting program is accepting new sign-ups through May 15. $14/month, weekly pickup, free bin. 2,400 households participated in 2024.
The Public Utilities Commission has approved a 3.2% rate adjustment for residential customers effective July 1, 2025. The average household bill will increase by approximately $4.20 per month. The full rate schedule is posted in the link.
Nine seats are open across the Planning Commission, Arts Council, Library Board, and four other commissions. Applications accepted through May 30. Commissioners are volunteer, two-year terms.
