The Belted Coat— Wool / cashmere · Antwerp atelier
€2,840— Made to order
AW25 is our 14th collection. Built around wool, denim, leather, and a single shade of cobalt that we've been mixing with the same Antwerp dyer since 2018.

Shot against the atelier's north wall. The cut is sleeveless wool crepe, cobalt-dyed in Como to the same formula since 2018. Photographed as it hangs — exactly the way you'd find it on the rail.
The atelier
ATRIUM was founded in 2018 by Eline Verbeke, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and Sara De Backer, a former pattern-cutter at Dries van Noten. The atelier sits on the third floor of a 1920s wool warehouse in the Eilandje quarter of Antwerp, and employs nine people year-round.
We produce two collections a year — autumn / winter and spring / summer — and nothing in between. There are no mid-season drops, no special collaborations, and no overstock. Every piece is cut and sewn to order: in our Antwerp atelier for tailored pieces, and at two long-standing partner workshops in Northern Italy for knitwear and silk.
What you order in October will arrive in December. What you order in March will arrive in May. We are not in a hurry, and we hope you aren't either.
— Antwerp · Belgium
Outerwear, tailoring, and the heavy wool pieces. All pattern-making and all cutting happens here. The atelier has been in the same Eilandje warehouse since 2018.
— Carpi · Italy
All knitwear — from Geelong wool fine-gauge to chunky hand-knits. We've worked with the Stefani family workshop since AW '19. They make for two other houses we like.
— Como · Italy
Silk dresses, blouses, and our signature cobalt-dyed pieces. Long-running family weaver on the Como lakeshore, dyeing in small lots from our own colour formulas.
— Brussels · Belgium
All leather goods — bags, belts, the occasional jacket. A small studio of three brothers we knew before ATRIUM existed. Hides sourced through a single Tuscan tannery.
— Stockists
Outside Antwerp, AW '25 will be available at eleven carefully-chosen shops worldwide from October 15. We don't sell through department stores or e-tailers.

— Journal
Occasional notes from the workshop, the dye-house in Como, and the houses we work with. Roughly one a month, never paid.
Eight years on, the cobalt we use across every collection has been mixed by the same family in the same shopfront on the Sint-Andries side of Antwerp. We sat with them for an afternoon.
